Choosing a Nation

As you may or may not know at level 95 you have to choose a nation, I;m not sure if its a personal decision or a guild one.

If it is a guild decision, I'd like to vouch for remaining neutral, that way we're not Kill on sight for most people, only the cruel ones...

If anyone can clarify how it works that'd be cool...

Now I've found out, you pick a nation at 99 and... well it's a quest you get about 3k honor for.

So it'd be nice to do...

We have the choice between the common wealth of Capella
...or the absolute monarchy of Procyon.

I'm not sure how it works but the areas level 95+ are war zones (free for all pk with no penalty) and this nation choice divides the players into two teams both of which kill each other on sight out of fear that the other will do the same. So... it's kind of like a fight for survival, and I think now having half the players on our side would help.

So I guess this is directed more to boss than anyone.

Capella or Procyon?

kat will explain more after i finish bugging boss about it. i'm still not sure what nation we are going towards, i think kat has one in mind, but as for me all my friends are split up between the two so it's a lose lose situation for me lol. oh well, that's all in the past.

yeah it really seems like it divides the players to the point of it being hard to stay friends with the other nation's members. But, it really is an interesting concept. It also forces people to become more competitive and efficient with the skills they have. (For example wizard would save their 60sec magic amp buff for emergencies and probably have another skill set up for pvp skills)

again, kat will eventually explain in more detail, but i also think kat said something about getting lots of honor from doing nation wars, so that's another reason to chose one.

as for my friend being in separate nations, i guess i'll go into the story a bit:
me and kat used to be part of a guild called "Legendary," when it was just the beta. the guild got pretty big, but not one of the top guilds. well eventually we got some people with short tempers and others that weren't completely loyal. eventually the guild split in two, and some when to other guilds. it was no ones fault, just a whole bunch of stuff happened at once and built up, and the guild leader was gone for a few days (one reason why we have guardians), and it fell apart. i was not part of the breaking up, just a bystander, same as kat. i still have my ties with the actual friends i had in the group (not the ones that i just talked to because they were in the same guild, but the ones i liked), (right now i think kat is the only one that i know in real life that is playing right now)...

sorry got a little off topic.

right now, that i can remember, 2 of my friends are in Capella, and 1 in Procyon, but i have not checked in a while. (can only see peoples nations in the buddy list if they are online, if you right click their name you can "edit memo" and i just put their nation in that box so if they are off line i can just click on "edit memo" and see what one they are on when they are off line. their nation appears next to their name, when you hover over it, when they are online.)

I suppose it all boils down to what guild your in, meaning after a certain point, I guess you need a guild to make in-game friends.
Sorry to hear about what happened to that old guild, but perhaps it's better to have a guild with someone in control who won't tolerate people who only cause problems. I've been in positions like that in other games, where a couple people ruined the guild with their attitude. As for guardians filling in for the leader, it works well, just not for over a month blankstare after that point, it gets tough. but you guys are almost back, thank god yawn
It really sucks that you might run into old friends as enemies, yet somehow, it's interesting. Sorry if I'm being insensitive to the issue, but I really haven't known anyone in this game over 100, and I doubt I'll be able to meet one and be friends now, this isn't the most social of games. Perhaps we'll stay a guild long enough to see many members past the 100 mark, to me it's kind of a personal goal. So anyone reading this. No quitting till you're past 100 darn it!

In both the US/CAN ver and the Euro ver of Cabal, players tend to favor Procyon over Capella in around a 6 to 4 ratio. Just like Dro, I have about 50/50 of my friend on Cabal in either nation, so it doesn't matter to me in that area.

I personally tend to lean toward Capella because there are less people in it and I'd feel like I'm just following the crowd by going with Procyon.... mmm....

By being in a nation, you can participate in Nation Wars. By taking part in them, you fight players of opposite nation for bountiful amounts of wondrous Honor =^.^= When in a nation war, players of the opposing nation will have their name in RED and can be targeted like any normal mob. There is no penalty for PKing players of the opposing nation.

Here are the formulas for being in a Nation War:

Honor rewards for winning a Nation War:
Honor Point Reward (Minimum 10 Points) = -100 + {(300 × number defeated) ÷ (numbers of allies in your nation + numbers of foes in the opposing nation)}

Honor rewards for killing monsters in Forgotten Ruin and Lakeside
(Minimum 1 point and Maximum 3 points per monster) = -4 + {(12 × numbers of foes in opposing nation) ÷ (numbers of allies in your nation + numbers of foes in opposing nation)}

As you can see, being in a nation can be great fun and good way to accumulate some honor =^.^=

Again, I'm voting for Capella to be our guilds nation, but I'd like to hear a couple of more opinions on that matter before anything is final.

So is Capella the permanent decision?

I don't think there's many people close enough to care, plus you've said you have more friends in Capella as did Dro. I personally was leaning to Capella as well.

Kay then, seems like we all love Capella. I shall put it under the Roles of the Family as our Families nation =^.^=

As I went to choose a nation and the sage said that he reccomended to join the nation with fewer people, Procyon... So does that change anything?

Also it's at 99 not 95 ashamed

And in nation wars uniforms blue and black is procyon and purple and white is Capella.

So... I keep getting little bits of new information
